Bear Essentials From The Harbour City Bears
Written by NetBear on February 8, 2010 – 4:29 pm -The Harbour City Bears are now famous for their furry event for the hirsute man, held every year during the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras. Their Bear Essentials is Australia’s largest gay event for bears and cubs! And now in its 14th fantastic year, Bear Essentials is an official Mardi Gras event.

Bear Essentials 14 - “Between The Flags”
Bear Essentials has been running for fourteen years now, and each year they aim to send their guests home with a smile on their faces. Many local Sydneysiders take the whole week off work just so they can attend all the events, or hook up with international travelers visiting Sydney.
They have some “old faithful” events that return year after year. But in 2010 they intend to spice things up with new events and special guest DJs from both interstate and overseas. US DJ Rotten Robbie, famous for playing the Lazy Bear pool parties, and Melbourne’s Rob Gilbert (Beyond) head the impressive line up of 7 DJs from 5 countries.
Visit Bear Essentials for details and to buy tickets.

Superbowl Ads Have No Pants
Written by NetBear on February 8, 2010 – 12:10 pm -This year the SuperBowl ads just weren’t a whole lot of fun from the Bearotic perspective. They weren’t quite as sexy as last year’s SoBe spot with big, hunky Matt Light. There were, however, some beardy surprises. For example, Dockers seems to think that men just don’t wear pants anymore.
We’re seemingly encouraged by Dockers to cast our pants to the wind and walk proudly in our underwear. Sounds good to us!

“Every year at the Spring Equinox, thousands of men gather together in an annual rite that echoes the ancient Druids. They don animal skins and meet in a dark, secret location where they dance in rituals to guarantee that the coming months will be fertile. Such is the myth behind the most notorious leather- and fetish-themed event in the world, The Saint At Large’s The Black Party.”

Bear Tube: Gigabots, Randy Does Zac Brown, Clean Balls, Shirtless Anonymous
Written by NetBear on February 3, 2010 – 12:06 pm -
The Gigabots battle giant monsters in this spoof of the famous Japanese kids show Power Rangers. At around 3:04 Mr. Pink Gigabot gets a surprise at his backdoor that he kinda likes. NSFW
Big bearded Randy says that he just does covers. Here he is doing his rendition of Highway 20 Ride from the Zac Brown Band.
If you’re gonna play with your balls, you gotta make sure they’re clean.
We’ve all seen ‘em at the bars, bear runs, at the park in the summertime or just around the neighborhood. Some guys just can’t seem to keep their shirts on. We wish this illness rubbed-off on the ginger bear facilitator of this self-help group.

Paul Parker Aged To Perfection
Written by NetBear on February 2, 2010 – 10:30 am -I remember hearing Paul Parker’s Right On Target track at a Castro bar during the 80’s. At a time of so many girlie voices in dance music, I loved the sound of his manly voice. The next day I hit my favorite record store, Butch Wax Records, and got my first look at him. This handsome mustachioed singer was my new favorite.

Over the years Paul Parker has consistently maintained a masculine look, featuring some kind of of facial hair. Today he’s sporting a goatee and showing a little snow on the roof for his new album. Paul has turned into the salt and pepper daddy that we all knew he would be.

LOST Final Season Starts Tonight
Written by NetBear on February 2, 2010 – 9:34 am -I was hooked on LOST the moment I saw Jack, the scruffy-cute doctor guy, helping people on the beach after their plane had crashed on a strange island. People were getting sucked into jet engines and strange noises were coming from the jungle. This was a science-fiction mystery I could really get into.

Over the past five seasons I’ve been a devoted fan. But there are SO MANY loose ends at this point. One wonders how the writers will draw them all together. Will we get the answers we seek?
- What is the island?
- What do those numbers (4, 8, 15, 16, 23, 42) mean?
- Who and what is Jacob?
- Did Juliet rewrite history setting off the hydrogen bomb?
- What did Jacob mean by, ”They’re coming”?
As I have said in many other sci-fi series, it had better not just turn out to be an elaborate dream sequence. The final season LOST premieres tonight at 9PM, with a special recap airing at 8:00. Refesh your memory by watching the last episode from last season at the LOST site.
