FeedTom of Finland Cologne Builds On A Man’s Scent
Written by NetBear on February 4, 2008 – 8:34 am -A new cologne created by Etat Libre d’Orange for The Tom of Finland Foundation pledges that it “does not disturb the odor of men.”
To the perfumer-composer for the fragrance, Antoine Lie, this new fragrance had to smell like “a guy coming out of a shower. He’s clean but not fragranced. And he puts on leather pants.” Inspired by Tom of Finland’s drawings, there is an outdoorsy aspect to the scent and themes of “metal, leather, sensuality, beauty and radiance.”

The box graphic below must be missing some additional nude graphic that put the moral/marketing censors over the top on this product. You will have to be 21 in the US and 18 elsewhere to get your Tom on. How they’ll sell it to you over the Internet is another matter.
According to the composer of the fragrance, TOF cologne has Notes (that’s scent-speak for what you’re smelling) that include a crumpled leaf, suede, metal, pepperwood, iris, tonka, vetiver, and of course musks.
The 50-ml. eau de parfum spray is to retail in Europe for 75 euros, or $110 at current exchange. The scent will be launched in the Paris-based Etat Libre d’Orange store, online at etatlibredorange.com (browser resizing alert) and exclusively in the U.K.’s Harvey Nichols at the end of next month. It will then be rolled out for Canada in June exclusively at Holt Renfrew and in the U.S., among other countries.

I am the first store in the U.S. to carry the Tom of Finland scent. It retails for $90. The scent is really great, and not overpowering by any means. http://www.shopmotley.com
