Sweaty Naked Man Runs For His Life In “Naked Prey”
Written by NetBear on February 16, 2008 – 6:00 am -On day while channel surfing TV as a kid I came upon a particularly interesting movie. A bearded man in loin-cloth was being pursued across the plains of Africa by a group of hostile native warriors.

A sweaty, naked bearded man on TV? (GULP!) Bug-eyed, I was glued to the set watching Cornel Wilde being hunted like an animal. While Wilde isn’t particularly furry other than his beard, his character’s warmth and easy-going masculinity gave me a man-crush.
Wilde’s character and a native boy hide from raiders pillaging the boy’s village.

Wilde does a lot of running in this down to bare essentials chase film.

In the film the leader of a safari offends a native tribe, which retaliates with a bloody attack. Two of the white men in charge are subjected to horrible deaths. The last, the safari guide (Cornel Wilde) is given a lion’s chance to survive. Stripped naked and given a short head start, he’s pursued by the tribe’s leading warriors through the rough African countryside.

Movies like this never seem to loose their magic. Here’s a humorous video clip compilation of scenes from the movie set to the tune of “Brotherly Love.”
Now we can enjoy this film in digitally restored splendor through the newly released Criterion Collection release. This collector’s edition features a newly restored high-definition digital transfer. Buy if from Amazon today and have your own private man-hunt safari tomorrow.

Sorry, but weraing a loin-cloth means you’re not naked. He’s a bit of alright, though!

In the movie he is stripped totally naked and sent off like an animal to be hunted. Later in the story he fashions a loin-cloth to give himself back some dignity.
Keep in mind that the movie was made in 1966. So you’re not going to get a lot of obvious nudity.
