I just realized that one of my favorite tracks of all time is missing from the list! Sylvester’s “Do Ya Wanna Funk” is more gay than maybe even ABBA. HA HA! Those Aussies need some schooling in what gay is really all about! But maybe they just didn’t get exposed to Syl’s music the way I did.
I came out in San Francisco listening to all the Sylvester tracks. His music was all over the Castro, in every bar, in every club. Maybe it was the local favorite effect. But Sylvester was part of the San Francisco gay community and everyone just loved him.
