Hot Retro Fur At The Milk Movie Parade

For the final on-location scene of the movie “Milk” people in San Francisco were asked to come in late ’70’s Castro Street style outfits. Bearotic was on the scene, finding lots of delicious retro fur.

Young bearded leather bear

The scene recreated the Gay Day Parade in 1978. Sean Penn, playing Harvey Milk, made an impassioned speech urging everyone to come out and be visible.

A young leather bear with what appears to be a newly created fu-manchu style mustache.

Fury chest and mustache
Here’s a guy showing a Haight Street influence, flaunting his furry chest and a 70’s style mustache.

mCockette style gender f*ck drag
Remember those gender f*ck drag queens with beards and flowing gowns? This group looked very Cockette-ish and totally appropriate for ‘78.

mTight jeans and an SF cop
Ah, do you remember a time when jeans were tight and cops would flirt?

Shirtless with sideburns and a goatee
Look close and you can just see the peach fuzz on this shirtless guy who’s sporting sideburns and a goatee.

Bearded guy with nice basket
And of course, a nice basket is always appropriate for the Castro, 70’s or 2008!

Can’t wait to see the movie so we can say, “Hey! We were right there!”
