A Cinebear Look At The Road To Wellville
Written by NetBear on April 28, 2008 – 5:06 am -Bears in film. It has happened every once in a while, yeah? But in the case of a movie like “The Road To Wellville” it’s practically the focus of the film.

In Bearotic’s ongoing Cinebear features we press pause to see just what bearish naughty-bits we’re missing in films past, present and future.
The movie starts out with an unhappy William Lightbody (played by a rarely bearded Matthew Broderick) getting dragged by his wife to a health retreat run by the eccentric Dr. John Harvey Kellogg, the inventor of corn flakes.

I couldn’t possibly eat that much. I’ve already had lunch.
Oh, it’s not going in that end, Mr. Lightbody.
As usual with all his guests, Kellogg diagnoses Lightbody for treatments ranging from a strict diet to regular enemas and a wacky exercise regime. But first Broderick has to get naked in front of his new nurse and the camera.

Lightbody doesn’t quite understand what’s going on. But he gets the point eventually…

Once things start movie smoothly (eh hem) we can start enjoying all the cameo roles various bearded, hairy and chubby guys make in the movie. Set in the early 20th century almost every male character you’ll see will have facial hair of some kind.

As Broderick’s character makes his way through various tortures we are treated to many different bits of bearish eye-candy. With it being a health farm there are naturally quite a few chubby guys around.

And then there are the butts… Lots and lots of butts. There are so many men’s butts shown in this film you would almost think that it was a preoccupation of the director. But we’re not arguing with where his creative juices took him on this one.

Eventually Broderick’s character realizes something isn’t quite right at Wellville. But a departing friend gives him something to renew his interest: an electric stimulation belt. Looking like a jock strap from a cyborg, Mr. Lightbody puts the unit to the test.

In between the scenes loaded with vibrating flesh you do get some other forms of cinematic entertainment in Wellville. Anthony Hopkins as the maniacal Dr. Kellogg is always interesting to watch. And Dana Carvey as Kellogg’s broken son George makes for some out of the ordinary father and son interactions.
Don’t believe me? Get a copy of the movie yourself and let us know if you find some even more bearotic scenes.

“played by a rarely bearded Matthew Broderick”
Funny, depending on what we mean by “bearded” some have claimed he’s been that way for quite a while now…;)
