Earlier in the series Jack was tan, scruffy and hirsute. But in a recent flash forward scene he comes out positively pink, as if a phalanx of hair haters forced him shave his chest baby smooth.
Here’s Jack before — tanned, hairy and with some nice chest hair.
But here’s flash forward Jack. Should we start calling him Pinkie?
Knowing the LOST writers there is some kind of symbolism to this. Losing all his body hair represents Jack re-integrating himself into civilization. And the baby pink hue shows how vulnerable he is in a (soon to be) relationship.
But like the lady in those burger commercials from a bygone era, we are forced to ask “Where’s the beef?”
