Grandson Of Al Capone Discovers His Scarface Heritage
Written by NetBear on May 18, 2008 – 5:07 am -Can you imagine what it would be like to discover that you are the direct descendant of one of the most notorious criminals in the history of the United States?
That’s exactly what happened to Chris Knight Capone, the grandson of Al Capone. He’s written a book about his experience entitled Son of Scarface.
The simple, loving and honest parents of Chris W. Knight kept a secret from their son for most of his childhood. Such a deep and dark secret burdened his unsuspecting family with a troubling legacy. In his autobiography he details uncovering the truth behind the family secret he heard as a young boy at his father’s funeral.

Chris Knight Capone
It’s an almost unbelievable story, with Chris’ father living his entire life with deep secrets that rivaled fiction. Growing up in a broken home, Chris and his sister were physically abused by their mother, whose actions were perhaps an attempt to safeguard her children from the truth that their grandfather was America’s most infamous gangster Al Capone, also known as Scarface. In this stranger-than-fiction story, Chris Knight Capone is not allowed to have any friends or to even to leave the family compound as a child.
Only as an adult is Chris Knight Capone able to uncover the dark secrets of his grandfather Al Capone and of his own father, William Knight, a man who had a fraudulent birth certificate and lived under an assumed identity.
After years of meticulous research, the help of private investigators, genealogical research and a courage to face the truth of his own identity, Chris Knight Capone confirmed that he was in fact a descendant of the world’s most notorious gangster.

Looking at the photo above it is easy to see that Chris inherited the frame and bulky body structure of his grandfather. What you don’t see in these photos (unless you have a VERY finely-tuned gaydar) is that Chris Knight Capone is also a member of the bear community. (That’s our little secret, OK?)
See bear. Buy bear. Read bear’s book. That way if you meet Chris at your next bear event you will already have something fascinating to talk about.
