Bear Tales Movie Taps Into Portland Bear Culture
Written by NetBear on May 20, 2008 – 5:13 pm -In the new short film entitled Bear Tales filmmaker Mike Christman gives us an engaging look at the Bear culture of Portland.

After studying film making in New Jersey, Christman moved to Portland where the scene he found there served to inspire him to write the story for this movie.
Every city has it’s own unique personality. As any Portland-ite will tell you, their city is no exception. It is that unique Portland perspective that helps to define Bear Tales. In the film the tragic death of a beloved drag performer brings together a group of Portland Bears who come to pay their final respects.

The wake provides us an opportunity to get to know them better and to find out who they like, who they love and who they lust after.

Originally planned as a 6-part series, this 31-minute film sets the stage for possible future story lines that continue the story of Tony, Nick, Jack, Peter, Jeff and their friends.
