The Many Faces Of My Morning Jacket’s Jim James
Written by BignFuzzy on May 29, 2008 – 5:15 am -Formed in 1998, lead singer Jim James is one of the original members of the rock band My Morning Jacket. Jim is a talented singer, musician and stage performer. We love his many “looks.” He certainly kept the bears interested at the recent Coachella.

Pushing the boundaries of his creativity, Jim looks very surreal in white face make-up from this funeral scene in the excellent Dylan movie I’m Not There.

And who needs a beard? A ’stache and mutton chops looks pretty cool on Jim too.

A little madness helps an artist to blow off some steam. Here’s Jim wiggin’ out on-stage. Well, at least he didn’t shave his pits!

Gotta love the contrast of the formal suit with the grungy Levis in this candid shot of Jim playing what appears to be an electronic autoharp.

A lot of us older bears like to reminisce about how good music used to be and complain that the young ‘uns don’t know how to create good tunes anymore. There might be some truth in that. But there are always exceptions to the rule. My Morning Jacket are a shining example of how it can still be done. Here are some great vids of Jim and the band doing what they do best.
