The Bear-volution Of Ilan Mitchell-Smith
Written by NetBear on June 22, 2008 – 4:48 pmNot unlike his role in the 1985 teen classic Weird Science, the Bear-volution of actor Ilan Mitchell-Smith from geeky boy actor to manly bear is just shocking.

As a young man Ilan was a teen heart-throb gone geek. In Weird Science he played Wyatt, one of the two nerdy boys who can’t get a date so they decide to create a woman of their own. After ending his acting career, how do you think Ilan would look after Bear-volution?
Bear science, work your furry-fury! (POOF!)

An amazing transformation, no? After he decided to leave acting entirely in 1991, Ilan earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Medieval Studies from UC Davis. He later received his Ph.D. from Texas A&M University. He is now a professor of medieval studies.
See if you remember Wyatt in this video spot on his character. You’ll also see and hear Ilan all clean shaven talking about his shift to academia.
