Little Britain Bringing Class And Culture To America
Written by NetBear on September 14, 2008 – 5:10 am -Little Britain is a bawdy and explosively funny British comedy series that first appeared on BBC radio and then television. The show is written by and stars Matt Lucas and David Walliams, who have managed to create some of the wild and wackiest characters you’ve ever seen.

After being approached by Simon Fuller (the man behind HBO and “American Idol”, a huge Little Britain fan) Matt and David have been filming an American version of Little Britain for HBO called Little Britain USA. The new six-part series will debut on HBO September 28th at 10:30pm.
Along with some of the best characters from the British version of the series, Matt and David have been hard at work creating some new characters for the American version of the show. How fun is that? We’ve got lots of sneak preview video for you too!
This video player will take you through nine Little Britain USA clips, including Lou and Andy, Bing Gordyn (New Character), Vicky Pollard, Daffyd Thomas, Phyllis and Mr. Doggy (New Character). You’ll also get to see a Making Of clip.
Watch for Rosie O’Donnell in the fat fighters segment from the nearly 10 minute Preview clip!
Are you fat because your a lesbian?
Or are you a lesbian because you’re fat?
Watch for the scene in the Making Of Video where the North Carolina sheriff shows-off his guns to a class of police cadets while sporting a woody!
It sure is a big and heavy one…
But it shoots a good load.
Which characters made the cut to Little Britain USA? We got the scoop:
Daffyd Thomas — Now the only gay on the university campus, where he tells anyone who will listen: “I can’t rock climb, because I’m a gay, you see.”
Sebastian and the Prime Minister — Anthony Head has hinted he’ll be back alongside David Walliams once more as an American man of power. Anthony said: “They’re writing Little America for HBO at the moment with a character like the Prime Minister I played along the lines of a US Senator. Whether or not it’s me…”
Marjorie Dawes — Ms. Dawes is back to unleash hell on overweight American laydees. Marjorie is notoriously rude to those she is trying to help including Rosie (Rosie O’Donnell) whom she introduces by saying, “You had your own show until Ellen DeGeneres took your slot.” Rosie rips into Marjorie for being so rude, prompting Marjorie to reply, “I’m disgusting? At least I don’t lick another woman’s ******.” OMG!
Lou and Andy — Lou takes wheelchair faker Andy to see an American preacher in a bid to “cure” him.
Vicky Pollard — Vicky Pollard is sent to Brat Camp after burning down Disneyland. LOL
Emily Howerd — The cross-dressing character with the ‘I’m a laydee’ catchphrase, transvestite Emily Howard is manhandled for shoplifting by his Matt Lucas and a hunky US cop.
Carol Beer — Computer-Says-No Carol is back! Now she’s working in a hospital. Check her out in the clips above for a good laugh. She’s the rudest receptionist ever! But strangely she reminds me of my last experience with American health care.
Bubbles De Vere — Big Bubbles is back, in all her glory! This is the character that gave fat suits a bad name.
And two more!
