Boys In The Band Coming To DVD

Written by NetBear on October 31, 2008 – 5:58 pm -

On November 11th CBS Home Entertainment and Paramount Home Entertainment will release the DVD of the 1970 cult-classic film The Boys in the Band, the screen adaptation of Mart Crowley’s landmark play of the same name.

The Boys In The Band DVD

In 1968, an Off-Broadway play about a birthday party attended by a group of homosexual men made theatrical history by becoming the first play to deal honestly with gay urban life. The party brings together a group of misfits that have become clichés — the self-loathing alcoholic, the bitchy queen, the flamboyant sissy, the stud-for-hire — for an evening of truth-telling.

King Of The Hill Canceled (Again)

Written by NetBear on October 31, 2008 – 4:21 pm -

The animated comedy featuring beer-swilling Texans might be through. The trade papers are saying that FOX has opted not to renew its long-running, Emmy-winning animated series King of the Hill.

King Of The Hill Canceled

TV’s second longest running primetime animated program, after only The Simpsons, will reach its end after 13 seasons and nearly 260 episodes.

But wait… There’s hope. You see, FOX has canceled King of the Hill before, only to give the series a last-second reprieve. There’s apparently a long history of FOX canceling animated series and then changing its mind later on. That happened to both Family Guy and Futurama.

But for now word is that the show’s staff was notified on Thursday that this latest batch of episodes will be the show’s last.

Hollywood Fuzz — Stache-o-rama!

Written by NetBear on October 31, 2008 – 5:26 am -

The mustache is king this week in Hollywood as it seems like many of the leading men are growing them for a variety of reasons. First we have this A-list star, fleeing from the paps at LAX last Wednesday.

Stached A-list Star

Looks kinda boyish, right? This actor is rarely seen with a mustache or beard unless its for a role he’s doing. That was again the case for the fuzz on his upper-lip. He’s growing it for a part. Think you know who it is?

See who the ’stached star is…

Jason Statham Shirtless From Transporter 3 Movie

Written by NetBear on October 30, 2008 – 4:32 pm -

Our favorite wank bank job guy, Jasan Statham, is scruffy, cut and handsome as usual in his new action film Transporter 3. Of course Bearotic is there to see who’s been manscaping.

Jason Statham Shirtless From Transporter 3

In the film Statham awakens to find a bomb around his wrist. As his captors inform him, the bomb is rigged to explode if steps more than 75 feet from his car. That’ll puts some limitations on his lifestyle, I’d imagine.

As you will see in our other photos from the movie, Statham’s character Frank Martin just can’t seem to keep his shirt on, especially during action sequences. Guess he wants to show-off all the work he put into that oh-so-cut body of his.

A New York police lieutenant accused of sexual harassment by two subordinates was found guilty of the harassment charge and “creating a lewd, hostile work environment,” according to the Daily News. Two sergeants claimed that Lt. Kieran Crowe “simulated masturbating and wiggled his tongue at them in a sexually suggestive manner” at the Police Headquarters office, which “ironically, investigates harassment in the workplace.” Crowe had said he had jock itch. But a trial commissioner felt that no condition involves extensive staring at crotches, masturbation gestures, tongue gestures and sighing sounds. Crowe was put on probation and suspended for 60 days.

Yesterday in San Francisco a scruffy and bearded Joaquin Phoenix attended a reading in honor of the late Paul Newman.

The performance is a benefit for Paul Newman’s Hole In The Wall California Camp, The Painted Turtle; a recreational camp and family health care center for children suffering from life-threatening diseases.

At the event which was planned before Newman’s recent death, Jack Nicholson, Tom Hanks, Julia Roberts, Bruce Willis and others came to Davies Symphony Hall in San Francisco to raise money for the camps. Bear With Me Comic Strip Gets Dramatic

Written by NetBear on October 28, 2008 – 11:05 am -

Since we first introduced you to Bear With Me things have gotten a little more dramatic than usual at our favorite bear comic strip.

Bear With Me Gets Dramatic

(Click to see the rest of this episode.)

Paul has left Andy, having been convinced by Andy’s mother that the relationship was doomed due to their disparate backgrounds. (That nasty old bag!) Paul relocated in Pennsylvania and has been living with his nasty father and redneck brother. It has not been at all pleasant.

Now Paul has just come out to his father while packing to leave for his own apartment in town. As you can imagine, this announcement has not gone over well, and the father got on the phone to Paul’s brother to get a group together at the house that evening.

It’s high drama of the beariest kind. You’d better head over to Bear With Me and catch-up on the action.
