But a star from the NBC show Friday Night Lights is getting a big reaction for his relatively small role in the film as Gambit.

Taylor Kitsch plays Remy LeBeau, known as Gambit, the card-throwing Cajun who has the ability to manipulate kinetic energy. In the X-Men saga he is a love interest of Rogue who was played in previous X-Men films by Anna Paquin.

The Shield Series Finale Tonight
Written by NetBear on November 25, 2008 – 10:18 am -Fans of Michael Chiklis are at odds with themselves about the 90-minute series finale of The Shield that premieres tonight. It signals the end of a gritty copy drama and of the role that brought Chiklis a lot of admirers.

True to the form of the series, tonight’s finale chooses not to kick its audience in the balls Sopranos-style. Instead it actually just wraps up, though not neatly and not pleasantly. It’s going to be a tense, twisted roller coaster as the final minutes of the drama unfold.
The 90-minute series finale of The Shield is tonight from 10:00PM to 11:30PM on F/X.

Scruffy and furry, Hugh looks a bit like Mel Gibson as Mad Max in a few of the shots. Must be that Aussie stud-muffin gene, right?
