Written by NetBear on November 10, 2008 – 10:38 am -The beginning of the holiday season brings with it a whole season full of activities, events and mixed emotions. But to certain Friends of Dorothy this time of year can mean only one thing… The Wizard of Oz on TV!

By its own admission it is probably one of the gayest and glamorous movies of all time. The Wizard of Oz inspired so many queer folk to dream a little, find their rainbow, pack their bags, click their heels and move to Emerald City San Francisco.
Gather together your clan in front of the TV and enjoy the camp, the nostalgia and the fantasy once more. TNT network will be showing The Wizard of Oz on Friday, November 14th, beginning at 8PM ET.

Classic imagery from The Wizard of Oz.

Another Wizard of Oz movie poster.

Work those ruby slippers, girl.

Munchkins prepare to give Dorothy a big sucker.

The Wicked Witch of the West has become a metaphor for anything and everything evil. Reminds me of someone I saw gloating over Prop 8 passing in California.

Zzzzap!! Not this time, Wicked Witch.

The Tinman demonstrates that he’d quite easily fall in love if he had a heart.

The Wicked Witch plots with the leader of her flying monkeys.

Dorothy and friends get frightened during their quest.

Everything will be better in Emerald City — just mind the poppies along the way.
