Privateer Calendar Celebrates Pirate History
Written by NetBear on November 12, 2008 – 10:00 am -Want to see some privateer privates? Here’s a fund raising calendar that features some (eh hem) prominent males from the community posed in “slightly naughty but always nice” scenes as 18th century pirates and privateers.

During the late 18th century Nova Scotia was the stomping ground of pirates and privateers. Each year Privateer Days celebrates the history and culture of Queen’s County, centering on the town of Liverpool.
The Privateer Days Commission had a great idea for a fund raiser. They commissioned photographer Nance Ackerman to create a calendar featuring local men (and a couple of women) posing as 18th century pirates and privateers, photographed tastefully in the buff. It also incorporate historical trivia and oddities about the people, industries and geography of the Liverpool area.
Get a copy of the Privateer Calendar and put some shiver in yer timbers while helping out the community in Nova Scotia.
