Bob Hoskins Works His Wood In Pinocchio
Written by NetBear on December 9, 2008 – 7:17 pm -Fans of that handsome bear Bob Hoskins are in for a rare treat this weekend. Hoskins stars in the U.S. debut of Pinocchio, a four-hour original production making its television premiere on ION Television this Sunday, December 14th at 7:00 PM ET. The miniseries will be broadcast in its entirety in one evening.

In this new adaptation of the film from Hoskins is of course Geppetto, the lonely father of the puppet Pinocchio who wants so badly to be a real boy. Nobody could ask for a better dad, right? So you’d better behave, puppet!

never imagined i’d read a message like the one above here in bearotic… anyway, i am a bob hoskins fan. i’m really curious from where [or when] his photo [the one where his arms are over a grill-like metal structure] was taken. could somebody share info?

The “grill” photo comes from a photography book called “Snowdon: Stills” from the British photographer Antony Armstrong-Jones (the Earl of Snowdon, apparently), which came out in the mid-80’s. I believe it was done for an article in British Vogue or something similar about Bob, around the time of Mona Lisa. I don’t know where it was taken, or how or why he talked Bob into this pose - I’m just glad he did!!
