Portland Is For Beards
Written by NetBear on January 1, 2009 – 5:27 amPortland Oregon says it just might be the beardiest city in America and has compiled photographic evidence to back-up their claim.
A beard is a scarf that works great while bike riding.

Hmm… We like the sensitive portrayal using kittens and teddy bears to reinforce the warm and fuzzy image of these guys.
As any bear can attest, the modest beard has other uses as well.
But can it be true that Portland is the beard capital of America? If so… Let’s see some more of those bushy faces!

Justin “Scrappers” Morrison (that’s him on the left) says, “A beard is a confident vote for manliness. A beard is a friend who is always there to give you a hug. A beard honors all the loggers who lost limbs and died harvesting the timber that built our great city—these buildings are made of old-growth Douglas fir and gravel dust from Mount Hood. A beard helps solidify the cultural significance of the Pacific Northwest and the rugged people who live here.”
Well said, Justin.
On that thought, visit Portland Monthly to read the whole article and to meet some of the men behind these exceptional beards.

While I believe a man is always more handsome with some form of facial hair, these Portland fellas could use some grooming tips to keep the fuzzy looking a bit more fresh.

I saw this somewhere else and instantly fell in love with the guy in the second row from the bottom, at left. Made me realize I haven’t had a good case of beard burn in a long time!
