Polar Bear Weekend At The Russian River
Written by NetBear on January 4, 2009 – 12:02 pm -Got a love for big furry guys leaping into icey waters? Groups of people take the polar bear plunge all over the world during the winter months. But here’s a new event that brings together bears for a cold plunge as part of four days of hot, furry fun.
The all new Hairrison Polar Bear Weekend is a fun and fund-raising 4-day event that takes place in the Russian River resort town of Guerneville, California, over the MLK holiday weekend — January 15-19 2009. If you recognize the Russian River location, it’s where Lazy Bear Weekend happens each year in the summer.
Polar Bear Weekend is the resurrection of a much loved winter tradition, not seen since the flood of 2004, where guys leap into an ice-filled swimming pool. This new weekend bear party is bringing then fun back along with more than two dozen additional events ranging from theme parties and dances to all-you-can-eat breakfasts, gala dinners, and wine tasting.
And it’s not just for the Polar Bears. In the bear community the term “Polar Bear” refers to guys who are a bit older or have white, gray or salt and pepper hair. Polar Bear Weekend welcomes these men and their admirers to return to the Russian River as they encourage a whole new generation to discover Hairrison Polar Bear Weekend — men of all colors, shapes and ages.
