Lou Barlow Covers Bulletproof From La Roux
Written by NetBear on October 29, 2009 – 2:07 pm -For more than 25 years, Lou Barlow has been a prolific songwriter with a wide range of sounds and influences, whether it’s the grunge of Dinosaur Jr. or the experimental folk of his Sebadoh project. But who knew the 43-year-old rock vet took recommendations from his four-year-old daughter?

Barlow credits modern technology and his daughter for finding La Roux. It’s very cool to hear a familiar song like Bulletproof performed acoustically on guitar. Barlow’s cover of the La Roux electro-pop hit comes through beautifully.

Thanks for sharing this,… I’m a big fan of lou barlow, but it’s been hard to find his CD’s recently. it’s cool to learn that he’s still out there with his many projects.
This cover of La Roux reminds me some of my favorites sentridoh songs… gotta dig the cd’s out of the pile ^^

I /love/ Spin, acoustic covers, and have even had the original song stuck in my head for the last 24 hours, but this just didn’t do it for me.
He takes a forceful, empowering song and turns it into weepy folk music.
Obviously he wasn’t planning on releasing that, just playing it for his own enjoyment, but I don’t see any covers of that going commercial unless they are punk or something.
