The Cliks Rock And Rule With Dirty King
Written by NetBear on August 8, 2009 – 11:00 am -I can still remember seeing Canadian rockers The Cliks for the first time on stage at the True Colors Tour. They got that party started! Now I’m blown away by their hot new music video, Dirty King.
Dark, gritty and gothy, the video has set fans of the band’s pure rock ‘n’ roll sound on fire. While cutting edge director Thibaut Duverneix keeps the images popping (from figures in black hoods, giant steel syringes and extreme make-up), Jen Benton (bass), Morgan Doctor (drums) and Lucas Silveira (lead vocals, guitar), complete with great slow-mo sequences.
Dirty King is the title cut from The Cliks‘ second US album, released June 23ed.

Polar Bear Attack Caught On Camera
Written by NetBear on February 7, 2009 – 10:03 am -We’ve got photos of an actual polar bear attack in Churchill, Manitoba in Canada. But we’re afraid that the images might bee too graphic and frightening to some. You’ll have to click-through to see them.
The following photos were taken while nearby people watched in horror. They could do nothing to stop the attack. Not even a man’s boots could not protect him from the onslaught. There’s biting, claws blazing and one absolutely wicked polar bear doing his best to cause damage to the innocent bystander.

Four years later and with hundreds of participants each year, SugarBear Weekend has become the largest bear event in Canada. SugarBear Weekend 5 will take place in Montreal from March 26th to the 29th. This year’s event will again be jam packed with 3 full days of activities, including a Bear Lounge Party at Sauna 456, a dinner with a redesigned bear fashion-show, a mega dance party, lumberjack games and of course a luncheon at an authentic Sugar Shack with transportation provided.

Results Of Mr. Leather Ottawa Competition
Written by NetBear on November 3, 2008 – 7:59 pm -The 16th edition of Mr. Leather Ottawa is officially in the books. In front of a huge crowd six men competed for the title of Mr. Leather Ottawa 2009. When the smoke settled and the scores were tallied, the final results were surprising and pleasing.
Brendan McGovern (center), aged 23, came out the victor, MLO’s youngest competitor and titleholder in its 16 year history. Mike Tattersall (left) was first runner-up and Dan Laroche (right), our second youngest competitor at 26, was second runner-up.
All contestants represented Ottawa’s leather and fetish community in fine fashion. MLO is very proud of all of its competitors, including Jordan Thomas, Thierry Papineau and Jean-Pierre Ouellette. Already hard at work, Brendan will be appearing on stage at the Breathless Ball, in Ottawa on November 21st.
Said event judge, Matt Pavelich, “This is one of the best groups of contestants I have ever seen. Brendan is exactly what Ottawa needs right now.”
