SF Chronicle Article On IBR And Bears

Bearracuda IBR UnderBear Dance Today
Written by NetBear on February 14, 2010 – 1:15 pm -Today Bearracuda presents the final dance event and the only underwear party of IBR weekend. Let the UnderBear Party begin!
Making a special guest appearance will be DJ Rotten Robbie. This is Robbie’s last bear dance before he heads down to spin the closing party at Bear New Zealand and at Mardi Gras week in Sydney. Good luck down South Robbie!
Joining him from 9pm-3am is our resident DJ from Bearracuda Seattle: Freddy, King of Pants! Freddy played the IBR UnderBear party last year and they’re very happy to have him back.

Kevin Smith Is On Off And On For IBR San Francisco
Written by NetBear on February 12, 2010 – 2:45 pm -Leave it to a straight bi-curious man to create major drama for the gay men putting on International Bear Rendezvous this year. (How’s that for funny a turn-about of stereotypes?) Kevin Smith was headlining the Smodcast show at IBR until yesterday afternoon when he canceled his appearance. But it was just straight drama. As of this morning he’s back on board.
Speaking of Kevin on board, we tweeted that the Kevster was sighted by a member of the Bearotic Army hustling onto a Southwest flight from LA with his fancy Louis Vuitton bag. Here’s some photographic evidence. Can you spot Kevin Smith’s head in this photo? Hint: He’s not wearing a ball cap.
We can’t wait to see Kevin at the Smodcast with director Malcolm Ingram!

Bearracuda Magnum Sweats This Friday For IBR
Written by NetBear on February 9, 2010 – 3:54 pm -On Friday, February 12th Bearracuda Magnum kicks-off International Bear Rendezvous 2010 with a bang! Last year, the event brought in over 500 friendly, furry guys from across the country to dance into the wee hours. This year they’re teaming up with Castrobear’s SWEAT to make a big dance party into a massive event.
On the main floor they’re flying in a fantastic talent from Atlanta: DJ JOHN MILLIER. This marks John’s return to San Francisco after spinning at IBR 2 years ago. Upstairs they have furry, floor-filling favorites: dabecy & Medic! Medic is one of the resident DJs of Bearracuda as well as a frequent spinner at Sunday Furry Sunday and the Lone Star’s Cubcake. dabecy is the creator of Electronic Music Bears and he’ll be playing the upstairs from 12:30 to close.
DNA Lounge is located at 375 11th Street @ Harrison. 9pm-After Hours. 21+ and please bring your ID. Tickets for MAGNUM/SWEAT are $15 in advance or with an IBR Badge. $20 at the door. Advance tickets are available.

Blowoff In Town For IBR San Francisco

Are You The Next IBR Contest Winner?
Written by NetBear on November 27, 2009 – 4:15 pm -Internation Bear Rondezvous in San Francisco is coming up fast. The Bears of San Francisco are looking for contestants for the The International Bear Competition, to be held on Sunday, February 14th, 2010.
Titles will be awarded for International Bear Cub, International Daddy Bear, International Grizzly Bear, and the overall title of International Mr. Bear. If you are interested in being a contestant, they must receive your applications on or before Thursday, December 17th, 2009.

Blowoff Brings The Heat To San Francisco Saturday
