Pinups Issue 11 And Scruffy Dominic
Written by NetBear on January 5, 2010 – 2:02 pm -It’s about time for a new release from our favorite centerfold magazine. Issue 11 of Pinups Magazine features a scruffy new model by the name of Dominic.

With photographer Christopher Schulz choosing the models you know there’s going to be ample body hair and facial fuzz. This triannual publication features one model pictorial per issue. There are no words — just an exaggeration of the classic centerfold. And did you know that every issue of Pinups can be reassembled to make a 32″ x 70″ poster?
Once you’ve ordered your copy don’t forget to watch a video of Joey from Issue 7. He will show you how to make a Pinups poster. NSFW

Bear Magazine Available At Borders And Bookworld
Written by NetBear on October 5, 2009 – 2:36 pm -The publishers of the world’s longest-selling bear publication Bear Magazine, announces its addition to Borders and Bookworld, two national bookstore chains.

Beginning with issue 69 which features a hairy Zeb Atlas on the cover and centerfold, BEAR will join the two large chains for increased exposure and to further meet the needs of their bear customers.
“When we revived and redesigned BEAR last year we knew it was a gamble, especially with the sudden downturn of the economic market. But despite the economy and various nay-sayers, BEAR’s growth has been unstoppable in an evolving industry.” said
Steven Wolfe, Editor-in-Chief. “I’m also rather pleased that they’ve put us in the men’s sophisticate category, alongside the giant publication Playboy. It’s a great acknowledgment and entrance into the mainstream.”
When BEAR MAGAZINE launched in 1987, it put a name to a growing gay community that had previously gone unnoticed: the unapologetically hyper-masculine gay male. With a dramatic metamorphosis in 2008, it returned with a fresh look and a new direction to reflect the many levels of an emerging contemporary, mature, masculine, upscale market. The result is a crisp, modern design with upbeat editorial content featuring hot erotic photography and provocative fiction, blended with humor and informative articles that are of interest to both the niche bear market as well as the gay mainstream.

Pinups 10 Features The Sexy Salaryman Scott
Written by NetBear on August 12, 2009 – 8:07 pm -In Japan they have a term for a white (or plaid) collar businessman. The “salaryman” works long hours in the corporate hierarchy. This descriptive seems to fit the theme for the new Pinups issue 10 nicely.

Issue 10 opposes the traditional storyline by featuring Scott’s morning routine. Scott wakes up, yawns, goes to the bathroom, showers, shaves, and gets dressed. Mister salaryman is ready to conquer the world, and we get to watch him get ready. Yum!
Pinups 10 releases in September. But you can pre-order it now at Pinups.

Christian Bale Talks Quietly With GQ
Written by NetBear on May 20, 2009 – 11:39 am -After his now infamous rant, a scruffy Christian Bale, star of Termination Salvation, talked quietly with GQ magazine for their June 2009 issue.

Included in the conversation are some choice words about Bale’s on set blowout. But what caught the Bearotic eye was the photos of the fuzzy Bale looking like he’s howling at the camera. Arrrooo!
I’d definitely say that that guy who was yelling was at least half John Connor, and the rest was Christian Bale.

Out And About: Wooly Fetish, Pee Bench, Egg Printer, Central Park Bears, Limp Pansies, Mandate Plug Pulled
Written by NetBear on May 12, 2009 – 5:28 pm -
Just when you think you’ve seen it all… A new fetish emerges. Thank you, Internet! It’s a tight knit community that we’ll call The Woolies.
Have you got a house mate or significant other who just can’t seem to keep his aim? Turn him into a pee wee angel with the Angel Lap Pillow from Japan. It’s a kneeling bench for the toilet that will humiliate the offender and keep the pottie clean.
I think I had something almost EGG-zactly like this as a kid. But back then you did all the drawing yourself. The Egg Printer is a computerized egg decorating machine.

If you’re going to be a member of the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster you’ve got to eat the body of the FSM. Hallelujah!
They’re still queeny and angry. But you’d think the forerunners of queercore would have more to sing about than getting patted on the ass by football players. Queerty says that Pansy Division’s eighth album, That’s So Gay, leaves listeners sadly limp. Buy it at Best Buy.
Bears spotted in New York’s Central Park… at least the big, bearded kind that “hang out at Home Depot.”

Mandate, Torso, Honcho, Inches, Playguy… It sounds like a magic spell from one of the Simpsons Halloween episodes. But these are all gay beefcake magazines that recently got their plugs pulled (NSFW) by publisher Mavety Media Group. The oldest of them, Mandate, has been continuously published since April of 1975 — just over 34 years. It’s not just gay mags either. Playboy is losing its pants too.
Mr. Dances With Wolves is back in the saddle again. Kevin Costner is returning to the Western genre with a new miniseries project at A&E.

Bear Magazine Evolves For A New Community
Written by NetBear on March 5, 2009 – 12:58 pm -I remember the first time I picked-up a copy of the original BEAR magazine. It was quite an eye-opener to see photos of blue-collar, working-class, masculine men — all proudly sporting body and facial hair. Looking back, that was probably the beginning of today’s bear community.

Now there’s a new BEAR Magazine that pledges to help advance the interests of the Bear Community. They’ve picked-up the torch to present a fresh new look at the men we love to an evolved and mature bear community.
To register for this giveaway just add a comment to this posting. We will select the winners by random drawing next Saturday, March 14th. Details at the end of this posting.
