Bearded Joaquin Phoenix Attends SF Benefit
Written by NetBear on October 29, 2008 – 1:00 pm -Yesterday in San Francisco a scruffy and bearded Joaquin Phoenix attended a reading in honor of the late Paul Newman.

The performance is a benefit for Paul Newman’s Hole In The Wall California Camp, The Painted Turtle; a recreational camp and family health care center for children suffering from life-threatening diseases.
At the event which was planned before Newman’s recent death, Jack Nicholson, Tom Hanks, Julia Roberts, Bruce Willis and others came to Davies Symphony Hall in San Francisco to raise money for the camps. The actors did a staged reading of Ernest Hemingway’s “The World of Nick Adams” accompanied by original music by Aaron Copland performed by the San Francisco Symphony.
