Rugby Player Gareth Thomas Comes Out
Written by NetBear on December 19, 2009 – 9:30 am -British rugby player Gareth Thomas has come out, revealing that he is gay.

Former Wales and Lions captain Gareth Thomas has broken one of the major taboos that surround sports by revealing he is gay.
Thomas retired from international duty after captaining Wales’ exit from the 2007 World Cup. But he admitted it was while he played for Wales that he first broke the news to former Wales caretaker coach Scott Johnson over his sexuality and the break-up of his marriage to his wife Jemma.
Just because you are gay, it doesn’t mean you fancy every man who walks the planet.
Gareth is one of the most well respected leaders in rugby. We applaud him for again setting an example in one of the most macho sports.
Thanks to Ben Cohen for this.

What do you do when you have a passion for two different things? Daniel at Ultimate Dam (Spanish) obviously loves comics and bears. Like those old Reeses commercials, he’s got bears in his comic book drawings. Get the translated to English version here.
As every guy knows, sometimes we get things “popping up” at the most embarrassing of times. Awkward Boners memorializes the woody caught on camera.
Bearotic reader Jack says that he doesn’t follow sports. But he’ll make an exception and follow these guys. Who wouldn’t want to watch two studly jocks swapping jerseys!?
Bearotic reader Tim told us about Mantracker, a Canadian TV show that has some good looking cowbears. Boy, howdy… Was he ever right! It is currently showing in the US on the Science Channel. Yee haw!

That was none other than Megatone Records recording artist Paul Parker. He’s back in the studio and cranking out some new material. Could there be a new album in the works?

British Rugby League Anti-Homophobia Campaign
Written by NetBear on December 1, 2008 – 7:09 pm -We love rugby — especially when it’s as depicted in this now famous ad photo for Paris, France. And now the Rugby Football League of Britain is hoping to promote LGBT equality in their sport with a new anti-homophobia campaign.

Click to see a larger version of this image.
League officials say posters and logos carrying the message, “Some people are gay. Get over it!” will be displayed at rugby league grounds, in programs and fan areas. The hope is that this help integrate LGBT people into the sport. Also Forums will be set up for gay, lesbian and bisexual players and staff.
These goodwill measures will make the RFL the first national governing body of a major sport to sign up and support an anti-homophobia campaign.
