Oscar Beard Awards From The Red Carpet

Written by NetBear on March 8, 2010 – 1:45 pm -

The stars came out to shine at the 82nd Annual Academy Awards last night. Of course, the Bearotic eye was keeping watch on the noticeable increase in furry chins at this year’s event. Several stars went the way of the beard. Take, for example, the scruffy look that Sam Worthington sported.

Sam Worthington scruffy at the Oscars

Sam has got that gruff Australian, bad-boy-sexy-look down. With a completely scruffy neck full of unshaved goodness, he takes the award for Best Oscar Nuzzle. Mmm… Can you imagine?

See who else on the red carpet got into the bearded action…

Bearotic Favorites From 2009, Part 1

Written by NetBear on January 1, 2010 – 4:09 pm -

Zombies Ahead It was an early sign in 2009. These Zombies Ahead hackcidents seemed to set the tone for the year. There would be some winners and some losers. But there would also be some snoozers.

Coraline showed us a 3D world of wonder made with old school charm. Little did we know that Avatar would soon introduce us to the uber high-tech version.

Colton Ford Colton Ford let us look under his covers. There’s always some eye candy to be had when Colton is involved. But the critics weren’t as enamored with his album of cover songs.

Film star turned grizzly bearded musician Joaquin Phoenix hit new highs and new lows. But we’re not entirely sure which incidents were which. An Absolutely Fabulous remake turns out to be absolutely horrible.

Obamicon Obama-mania officially took over the nation. Everyone got their Obamicon done while one little HUGE gray hat caused a fashion storm. At Obama’s inauguration the new commander-in-chief broadcast the unifying message that We Are One. But the bad economy became a major challenge for the new world leader, though it turned out to be good for beards.

The popular Bearracuda events took off and brought the party to wild life in other cities across the United States. Bear Party took the big and furry guys from world-distributed magazine to live events and contests. Blowoff went from east coast phenomenon to west coast favorite, inspiring half of the group to move to foggy San Francisco.

Burly Jack from Lost The ABBA chicks denied the cat fights. But there was no denying that the Grizzly Jack from Lost set some bear hearts aflutter. We want to see Jack meet himself, like Jonathan Frakes in the Riker’s Beard video.

The Beard Song showed us that eating soup can be fun. But just don’t have as much fun as Sordid Lives or you’ll invoke the wrath of the religious right.

See what else made 2009 a Bearotic year to remember…

New Clash Of The Titans Has Worthington

Written by NetBear on December 18, 2009 – 2:06 pm -

I’ve always been a big fan of the old Ray Harryhausen sci-fi classics like Clash of the Titans from 1981. With this new remake starring Sam Worthington we get to experience a new Jason with modern special effects.

Clash of the Titans Poster

It will be a tough sell for hardcore sci-fi bears like me to forget the old classic. But with fur bait like Worthington in the mix, I’m willing to give it a go. ;) And we’ve got a trailer for you featuring Mr. Worthington. Grrr…

Avatar First Image Of Sam Worthington

Written by NetBear on August 25, 2009 – 11:25 am -

Finally, Twentieth Century Fox has released the first official movie photo from James Cameron’s highly anticipated sci-fi epic Avatar. Recognize that hottie? It’s the scruffy cyborg that stole the show in Terminator Salvation, Sam Worthington.

Sam Worthington in Avatar

A wounded ex-marine (Sam Worthington) is sent to settle the planet Pandora against his will. He gets caught by the planet’s natives, called Na’vis, and falls in love with one of them (Zoe Saldana). On their planet, he undergoes an experiment to transform into an avatar, another physical version of himself, which is a giant otherworldly creature who he can control through his mind.

Avatar takes us to a spectacular new world beyond our imagination. The film was first conceived by Cameron 14 years ago, when the means to realize his vision did not yet exist. Now, after four years of actual production work, Avatar delivers a fully immersive cinematic experience of a new kind, where the revolutionary technology invented to make the film, disappears into the emotion of the characters and the cinematic sweep of the story.

Not getting enough “man-meat” in your diet? Maybe a heapin’ helping of bull penis will satisfy you.

Is Dominic Monaghan (Charlie in LOST) joining the cast of Grey’s Anatomy?

Eek! Adam Lambert is really, officially, undoubtably gay! Tell us something we didn’t already know!

Is the Boston gay bar scene a thing of the past?

Adam Ant Prince Charming Legendary dandy Adam Ant is back! His girlfriend has helped him strip away the pounds and the past and now he is ready to hit the road once again.

OMG! Wesley Eure who played Will in the original Land of the Lost series is gay!?

Does Jason Mraz poop in the woods? I guess so. But he only uses 8 squares of toilet tissue.

Man is buried in a Tardis. Now that’s a Doctor Who fan!
