According to Perez Hilton, the Scissor Sisters are hard at work on their next album. But we of course knew that already.

He also goes on to say that Stuart Price is co-producing the record with the band. Price also collaborated with Madonna on her album Confessions on a Dancefloor as well as Missy Elliott, The Killers, Gwen Stefani, Seal, Keane and Frankmusik.

The new Scissor Sisters album is expected to be released in March of 2010. Yay! Visit their web site to see video and snapshots of the group at work.

Scissor Sisters’ Paddy Boom “Go Boom”

Written by NetBear on October 21, 2008 – 7:53 pm -

The Scissor Sisters have confirmed on their website that Paddy Boom, who was with the band for seven years, has left the band in amicable circumstances. That’s him on the right.

Scissor Sisters Part With Paddy Boom

The statement read: “We would like our fans and friends to know that we have amicably parted ways with the original Scissor drummer Paddy Boom. He will no longer be on stage with us but he will always be our sister. Don’t worry, we are hard at work on our new record and we can’t wait to see you all soon.”

Boom is being temporarily replaced by Randy ‘Real’ Schrager. The band’s third LP, the follow-up to 2006’s ‘Ta-Da’, is due in 2009.

Scissor Sisters To Play Secret New York Gigs

Written by NetBear on October 13, 2008 – 4:14 pm -

According to the Arjan writes music blog, there are signs that the Scissor Sisters might be playing two secret gigs tonight and tomorrow at New York’s Mercury Lounge to try out new material.

Babydaddy of the Scissor Sisters

The timing seems about right since the Sisters haven’t been generating much new information on their web site since we told you about them doing a hi-def concert on LOGO channel back in April.

If you look up the Mercury Lounge event list tonight “Queef Latina” is playing and tomorrow it’s “Debbie’s Hairy.” If those aren’t Scissor Sister gag act names, I don’t know what is! The band has done under cover shows like this before when they played at the Mercury as “Bridget Jones’ Diarrhea” back in 2005.

Though the concerts are apparently sold out there is always hope for hard core Scissor Sisters‘ fans. Some tickets surfaced on Craigslist earlier. We’d stand in line for hours for a chance to see Babydaddy strumming his guitars and tweaking his synths. Woof!
